In 1957, an automatic transmission was still an extra-cost option. GM’s reasoning for this was that everyone who ordered a new Buick would want it.

The lady who ordered this car figured the 3-on-the-tree standard transmission would be just fine. So, the Buick Division built her this one with three pedals on the floor.

Doug recognized how rare it was, so he snapped it up when she traded it after ten years, as many people did back then. He’s only ever seen one other, so he bought it too.
