Happy December Glenbrook!
This month, we warmly invite all community members to attend our Annual General Meeting on Thursday, December 4. This is your chance to hear updates on neighbourhood initiatives and help shape the future of our community.
Looking ahead in December, be sure to come out for our ice-skating party on Sunday, December 28 from 1:00 to 4:00 pm at the Community Association Rink. Bundle up and join us for a festive afternoon of skating and holiday cheer. The KidSport Skate Shack will be onsite to supply skates for those who don’t have their own. Bring your family, invite your neighbours, and make some magical winter memories!
In 2026, we’re excited to continue building a strong, inclusive, and engaged community. Stay tuned for updates on community events, volunteer opportunities, and ways to get involved. As the year draws to a close and the holiday season approaches, I want to take a moment to thank our many community association volunteers for helping to make our neighbourhood such a vibrant and welcoming place. I would also like to extend thanks to all community members. Whether you joined us at our holiday makers market, participated in the spring cleanup day, stopped at Shirley’s Greenhouse in the summer, or came to our Movie in the Park event, your presence and support matters. Thank you!
I’ll leave you with a stanza from the poem Ring Out, Wild Bells by Alfred, Lord Tennyson that summarizes the feeling of leaving one year behind and moving forward to the next.
Ring out the old, ring in the new,
Ring, happy bells, across the snow:
The year is going, let him go;
Ring out the false, ring in the true.
Wishing you and your loved ones a joyful holiday season and a peaceful start to the new year.
All the best,
Kim
