Hello again Glenbrook!
As winter’s chill fades and the days grow longer, I am looking forward to the arrival of spring and warmer weather. Spring officially arrives on March 21, so flowers will soon be blooming, and trees will be budding out. As we make this transition, I ask that everyone be patient as the rink is put away and work begins on getting the summer courts ready for use.
March is also the month when we celebrate St. Patrick’s Day, which falls on Monday the 17. Did you know that the original colour associated with St. Patrick was blue, not green? Over time, green became the colour of choice due to Ireland’s lush landscape and the use of the shamrock by St. Patrick to explain the holy trinity. Also, March 9 is the day we ‘spring ahead’ by moving our clocks ahead one hour.
Be sure to keep an eye on the Globe, as we have been planning several events that are coming up over the next few months, including our neighbourhood cleanup, the Starry Nights dance, and much more!
Take care,
Kim
