April 2024 Board Meeting

Recruitment for New Roles: Now that the hall is up and running (and filling up with people), the Board has identified a number of opportunities to expand the team that takes care of the facility and our community of hall user groups. Recruitment is progressing. The Board is grateful to four local residents who expressed interest in the maintenance position. Members of the Board met with each individual, and the Board has offered a contract to Jim Kelly who has detailed knowledge of the facility and grounds and a strong safety and first-aid record. Recruitment for a second paid position, a part-time hall coordinator is also underway. Finally, a volunteer for a volunteer coordinator position is also being sought; this role will assist the Board with organizing our major events, such as the casino, volunteer, and community recognition events, etc. Please see the website for more information:

Board Members Stepping Down: In advance of the April meeting, Michael Sander and Mary Lynn Bryan notified the Board that they were stepping down from their Member-At-Large positions, effective immediately. The Board sincerely appreciates their commitment to the Board. Glendale is fortunate that each will continue to serve in key volunteer positions within the community. Michael can continue to be reached at [email protected] and is working closely with Board member Monika Smith who leads Naturally, Glendale planning and projects. Exciting things to come on our grounds! The Board is continuing its work with eleven active Board members, which is a robust number of volunteers supporting the governance of our association. Interested in joining? Stay tuned for our September AGM where elections take place and reach out to [email protected] if you have any questions!

Garden Season Has Begun!

Plots in the community garden are now available for rent! Each plot is $35 for members, for the season, on a first-come-first-served basis. If you are interested, please contact [email protected].

We are also planning to expand! Please reach out if you have a passion for growing and landscaping and want to share ideas and expertise – native plants, hardy fruit, fruit forests, or anything else.
