Glendale’s June Message from the Board

Glendale mb
  • The Glendale Community Hall is still closed under provincial order, but we have been able to maintain a few service touchpoints, including at our Glendale Community Garden, and the tennis courts. Members are enthusiastically signing up for both programs that are operating under social-distancing guidelines.
  • Glendale Community Preschool has been operating virtually, with our teachers Ms. Caroline and Ms. Danica connecting with 73 students via online story, learning, and craft times. The preschool has an amazing job opportunity for a childcare administrator who will oversee operations at the preschool. Visit myglendale.ca to see the job posting. We hope things are back to normal in September at the Preschool, so registration is going ahead full-steam. Visit glendalepreschool.ca to register.
  • This is going to be the year to store the stuff you don’t want. Community Cleanups across Calgary (Dumpster Day) have been postponed until 2021. Garage sales have also been banned until further notice because of the potential for coronavirus to spread, as many people handle the same items.
  • The Glendale Community Board continues to meet via Zoom on the second Wednesday of each month. Anyone who wishes to attend the meeting should email Chris Welner at [email protected] to request access. June has traditionally been the time for Glendale’s Annual General Meeting, but with facilities closed until at least the end of August, the AGM has been tentatively rescheduled for September 9, 2020. This is your opportunity to step up and join the board to help Glendale continue to thrive.
