Dear MLCA Members, Neighbours, And Volunteers,

It is with mixed emotions that I am writing to share I will be stepping down as President of the Marda Loop Communities Association (MLCA), effective February 24, 2026. An incredible personal opportunity has opened for me that requires my immediate relocation to Edmonton, Alberta.

Serving as President has been one of the most meaningful volunteer roles of my life. I’m deeply grateful for the support, trust, and collaboration of our board, staff, committee leads, volunteers, local businesses, and residents. The strength of Marda Loop is its people—and I’ve had the privilege of seeing that firsthand through the passion you bring to making this community safer, more connected, and more vibrant.

Thank you to everyone who has contributed time, ideas, and energy, whether by attending meetings, volunteering at events, advocating for improvements, supporting local initiatives, or simply showing up for your neighbours. Every contribution matters, and together we continue to build a community we can be proud of.

While my next chapter requires me to step away from this role, my confidence in MLCA’s future is strong. The association is powered by capable, committed people, and there is real momentum to keep moving forward.

An Invitation to Lead

MLCA is now seeking a new President (and engaged board members) to help guide the association’s work. If you care about community-building, local improvement projects, small business vitality, safety, events, and advocacy—this is a meaningful way to serve. You do not need to “know everything” to contribute; you simply need to show up, listen, and lead with integrity. MLCA has a supportive board and a collaborative culture, and we welcome applicants from all backgrounds and experiences.

If you are interested in applying—or if you’d like to nominate someone you believe would be a strong fit—please contact [email protected].

Thank you again for the opportunity to serve. I will be cheering for Marda Loop and for the people who make it exceptional.

Warmly,

Jason Quilley
