Ensuring mobility safety in our neighbourhood is essential for the well-being of everyone—especially children, seniors, and those with limited mobility. Increasing concerns about vehicle traffic and speeding in our community highlight the need for greater awareness and action.

Whether walking, biking, or driving, we all share responsibility in keeping our streets safe. Reducing speed, obeying traffic signs, and staying alert can significantly prevent accidents and create a more livable, welcoming community. One way we can do this is by putting up signs to remind people to slow down and working with the City of Calgary to change the road architecture.

Several locations of concern for mobility safety have been identified, and we continue working with the City of Calgary and the Calgary police to get those addressed. There are specific concerns with speeding along connector streets such as 20 Street SW and 16 St SW, and other key intersections.

Please take the time to report all traffic and speeding issues to 3-1-1 and fill out Traffic Service Requests with the Calgary Police. Let us know too by sending a note to [email protected]. The City of Calgary uses records from 3-1-1 which can help us when trying to get our concerns addressed. Let’s work together to highlight the issues and support initiatives that promote safe and respectful mobility for all residents.

Be aware and stay safe out there!
