If the MLCA Seniors’ first gathering Monday, September 8 was any indication of delights to come, we are in for a great year!
Our friend Doug Coats (Yes! He’s a friend now that he has enthralled three times) gave a wonderful oral and visual presentation of Calgary’s as well as Canada’s connections to the series Downton Abbey.
Street names, railways, survivors of the Titanic, ranchers who became royalty, and royalty who became ranchers. Who knew! Everyone came away wanting more. And indeed, Doug does have other presentations in his repertoire, so we hope to see him again soon.
The turnout was great, with some of the gals and guys dressing in outfits from that era. Over coffee, tea, and treats supplied by the Edward, members had time to visit with old friends as well as meet and make some new ones.
Come join us in October!
