We continue to participate in the OCA Strategic Planning activities with a meeting held on Thursday, July 9. We are looking at ways to engage with and support a wider group of Oakridge residents.

We continue discussing with the City of Calgary Administration and Jeromy Farkas’ office regarding road safety, especially with the opening of the SW Ring Road in October.

Two construction activities continued in S Glenmore Park with the Bike Skills Park nearing completion, the entrance way, seating area and pathways now installed and surrounding turf laid and the Quinterra Legacy Park is also progressing well with several elements already completed. Take a walk and see the progress yourself. Details can be found at respectively:

Construction is anticipated to be completed in the fall.

We have not held any further meetings to discuss S Glenmore Park strategic plans; however, we are in touch with members of the Weaselhead Preservation Society and participated in the City Nature Challenge 2020. Read all about how Calgary achieved more observations, documented the most species, and engaged the most observers of all Canadian Cities.

We had our 10th ‘District 32’ meeting on 27 July and agreed on a follow up meeting with the Federation of Calgary Communities (FCC) to discuss Local Area Planning in our neighbourhoods.  Together with other CA groups, we continue to push for more definition in the Guidebook for Great Communities prior to its being approved by Council. This has now been postponed to January 2021. District 32 refers to Oakridge, Palliser, Bayview, Pump Hill (PBPCA), Braeside, Cedarbrae, and Woodbine and Woodlands (Woodcreek CA). We also agreed to re-look at our survey questionnaire to ensure we are aligned within and between Communities on the types of questions we need to ask.

We anticipate August will be another slow month on the Civic Affairs and Planning activities.
