Two projects in South Glenmore Park are now complete. The Bike Skills Park opened in mid August and is getting tremendous use. Take a walk if you can and see the enjoyment that so many youngsters are getting as well as improving their biking skills. See attached photos. The Quinterra Legacy Park is now completed and just waiting for the barriers to be removed. Details can be found at respectively:

We have not held any further meetings to discuss S Glenmore Park strategic plans but plan to shortly with continued communications with: http://theweaselhead.com/. We are still concerned with the City’s long-term plans for this Park and natural Area.
Other major news is from Calgary Co-Operative Association Limited with respect to their Phase 1 redevelopment at Southland and 24 Street. In communications with Co-Op Management they have stated that, “Unfortunately given the current situation with COVID and its impact on the economy and market and that we were waiting on our permits, we are putting the project on hold and won’t foresee starting the project until next spring now that we are approaching winter. We will be reassessing the project over the winter months and will make a determination when we may reactivate the project.”
We continue to participate in the OCA Strategic Planning activities with a meeting held on Thursday, July 9, and ongoing email exchanges during August/September. We are looking at ways to engage with and support a wider group of Oakridge residents and address more opportunities and issues.
We continue discussing with the City of Calgary Administration and Jeromy Farkas’s office regarding road safety, especially with the opening of the SW Ring Road in October. The recent opening of Costco could see some additional traffic along 24 St but this is considered minor compared with traffic changes when the SWRR opens.
We had our tenth ‘District 32’ meeting on July 27, and agreed on a follow up meeting with the Federation of Calgary Communities (FCC) to discuss Local Area Planning in our neighbourhoods.
We anticipate September and the 4th Quarter 2020 will be an active period on the Civic Affairs and Planning activities as we re-engage after the summer break.
