Rutland Park’s July Traffic and Development Report

I would just like to highlight what has been happening/going on behind the scenes this past month, in no particular order:

  1. I hope that by the time you are reading this our city is finding its wings again and that there is positivity in both our hearts and our economy. Thank you for working together and supporting each other during these difficult times!
  2. At this point, our community hall will be closed until the end of August. We look forward to the time when we can gather together again and share our stories; hopefully, some wonderful memories are being created as we speak. I also know of at least one new little addition to our community that we will look forward to meeting in the next while – congratulations to all the new parents in our communities!
  3. Things have been pretty quiet on the development front. We have had a couple of smaller applications in Currie, but housing construction has certainly slowed down across the city at this point.
  4. Motorcycles with straight pipes have become a concern on Richmond Road as they rev up at all hours of the night. I have asked the City to consider additional traffic calming measures on 32 Ave/Richmond Road to try and reduce these incidents.
  5. I have also asked the City about getting on a weed control rotation, especially for the boulevard along Sarcee Road.

If you have not already signed up for our email updates, please do so on our website, rutlandparkcommunity.com. The City often gives us very short notice for upcoming events, and this is the quickest way for us to reach you. Please also join us on Facebook—Rutland Park Community Association, and Currie Community. Thank you for your ongoing support.
