As you know, there has been tremendous development in Springbank Hill between 17 Avenue SW and 85 Street SW. Slokker Homes is the primary developer bringing new homes to this area. The company was founded in the Netherlands in 1935 and has expanded to the United States and Canada. Slokker came to Alberta in 2007 and has built vibrant communities in Edmonton, St. Albert, Airdrie, Calgary, Chestermere, and Cochrane.
Slokker Homes has named this new development in Springbank Hill ‘Aspen Village’. Within this new development, all 97 units in Slokker’s Aspen Springs Townhouse project and all 45 units in its Orion Condominium project are sold out. The Elkwood Townhouse project is under construction, with 79 of its 99 townhomes currently sold. Over the next two years, 350 more townhouses will be constructed, and the next five years will bring an additional 2,000 townhomes and condos to the development.
Once Aspen Village is complete, up to 5 km of pathways will meander throughout the development and a playground will be available for all ages to enjoy. To further take advantage of Springbank Hill’s natural beauty, community spaces are in the works for open-air events and neighbourhood gatherings. EV charging stations will also be installed in some of the projects.
The Slokker Homes development, alongside other projects in the area, will undoubtedly reflect an uptick in traffic. However, Slokker Homes has proactively contributed to mitigating this impact by funding the development of 19 Ave SW and the reconstruction of 81 Street SW.
In addition, Slokker Homes is pleased to offer its Aspen Village homebuyers a free one-year membership to the SBHCA (Springbank Hill Community Association) to welcome these residents and provide a sense of belonging in their new community.
