Happy New Year! As we step into 2025, we’re excited about the opportunities this year holds for our vibrant community. The Strathcona, Christie, Aspen area thrives because of the dedication and energy of its residents, and we’re calling on you to help make this year our best yet!
Our board is actively seeking new members who share a passion for building a connected, thriving neighbourhood. Serving on the board is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to shaping our community’s future, share your ideas, and make meaningful connections with your neighbours. Whether you’re interested in community planning, organizing events, or supporting local initiatives, there’s a place for you here.
Not ready to join the board? That’s okay! We’re also encouraging the creation of subcommittees for specific projects or events. These smaller groups are a great way to get involved without a long-term commitment. Have a vision for community green spaces, youth programs, or arts and culture events? A subcommittee is the perfect platform to bring your ideas to life!
Here’s How You Can Get Involved
1. Attend a Meeting: Join us for our next board meeting on Wednesday, January 15. It’s an excellent opportunity to learn more about our work and meet the team. Apologies for the November edition that had the incorrect meeting date. We always meet on the third Wednesday of every month.
2. Volunteer for a Project: Sign up for a subcommittee or volunteer role that matches your interests.
3. Reach Out: Have ideas or questions? Email us at [email protected].
4. Have a business: We’d love to find ways to collaborate! Send us a note and we will find a way to work together.
Together, we can continue to build a welcoming and supportive neighbourhood for all. Your voice matters, and your involvement makes a difference. Let’s work together to ensure Strathcona, Christie, and Aspen remain some of the most vibrant communities in Calgary!
