Volunteer Positions with the WSCRCA

Are you someone looking to give back to your community and looking for opportunities to engage with your fellow neighbors? Are you organized and like working with people and/or looking for volunteer experience? Then you may be happy to hear that there are some openings on the WSCRCA Board.

The WSCRCA is run and supported by volunteers and sponsors in our own WSCR community. Without our volunteers, we cannot continue to provide programming such as our soccer and skating programs, as well as initiatives such as the community garden and other events like the family ski nights and many, many more.

Volunteering in your community gives you many benefits, including getting to know others in your community, contributing your time to enhance your own community and helping to ensure that we can continue to provide programming for the community.

We are looking for the following volunteers to help shape our community and grow awareness of the association:

Secretary

An elected Board of Directors position that assists and participates in board decisions of policy, finance, programs, and advocacy. Primary duties include capturing monthly meeting minutes; coordination of, and maintenance of WSCRCA records and documents, and taking attendance at the monthly board meetings. The time commitment is approximately 3 to 6 hours per month. No experience is required. Two-year term.

Casino Coordinator

Our two-day casino event brings in much-needed funding for the association and occurs approximately every 18 months. The duties of this position include coordination of overall casino efforts such as requesting and scheduling the casino night, and coordinating volunteers. The time commitment is relatively low and ramps up leading up to the casino to roughly 10 hours per month. No experience is required. For more information, please contact Aidan at [email protected].

Treasurer

We are currently seeking a qualified member to fill the Board Treasurer role. The processes and background are relatively well established, so the person filling the role would be able to pick up the work quite quickly. We also have our outgoing treasurer available to train and get you up to speed easily. The time commitment is approximately 2 to 3 hours per month.
