Kudos!

I have to say I’m impressed with tenacity of some of our neighbours in Acadia. Recently a submission came forth for a cell tower installation in the green space of the ball diamonds across Blackfoot from the old trailer park (at this time of writing, I am not aware if it’s still going through at that location or not).

Neighbours Patti, Bud, Kelton (and others) took it upon themselves to gather signatures in a petition, do research, send letters (so many letters) – all in an effort to have a say in something going on in their part of Acadia. These three (indeed all of the interested neighbours) deserve kudos for taking the time to ensure their voices were heard.

Too often these days we have all the ‘reasons’ not to take the time to try and engage the powers that be in dialogue (or debate) around issues impacting us where we live. Be the squeaky wheel folks, if you aren’t getting the dialogue you were hoping for keep going. There is no guarantee that you’ll get the chance to change an outcome (or even sometimes to talk to someone), but no one should be able to tell you they were unaware of your concern.

Thanks to all you Acadians that stick up for yourselves.

Keith

President
