Playground Funding

In late December my office got together with students and parents at Copperfield, New Brighton and Prince of Peace (Auburn Bay) schools to have them share their thoughts about not receiving playground funding, while other schools in our constituency did. You can find the video posted on my Facebook page: RickFraserYYCSE. To date it’s been viewed over 7,000 times and shared 150 times. Let’s get this video viral and spread the word. My office has been in contact with Minister Eggen’s office to provide constituent feedback from all constituents who have written in our called our office on this matter.

Seton Recreation Facility

Opening in 2019, Seton Recreation Facility will provide a blend of leisure, sports, arts, culture and recreational amenities for individuals and families. It will also be a competitive sports venue for groups and organizations. YMCA Calgary will be the operator of the new City-built Seton Recreation Facility in the southeast quadrant of Calgary.

As a true multi-use, multi-generational community facility, amenities for this central gathering place include a water park, competition lane pool, diving, two multi-purpose ice rinks, gymnasiums, a fitness centre, a theatre, dedicated art space and a full-service public library.

At 330,000 sq. ft., the Seton recreation facility will be a community hub where people of all ages and abilities can come together to play, learn, exercise, relax and have fun.

Bill 30

I voted in favour of Bill 30 that protects paramedics that suffer a heart attack within 24 hours after their shift under WCB.

I also spoke to the bill asking the government to revisit the changes within a year to ensure that small businesses can succeed and that the changes work for all Albertans.
