Learn more about your Calgary Catholic School District Board of Trustees!
Catholic trustees are stewards of faith, supporters of collaboration and passionate about student well-being and success. At the Calgary Catholic School District, seven trustees are each elected to represent wards in Calgary and surrounding area. We collectively form the Board of Trustees and are accountable to our constituents.
We gather information from many sources and foster relationships with a wide range of stakeholders. Whether it is parents and guardians, parish leaders and community members or education administrators and government officials, we diligently connect and collaborate to ensure we understand the needs of the students and families we serve; build vibrant communities of faith and learning; and continue to provide our students with excellence in publicly-funded Catholic education.
Parental involvement in education is proven to improve student success, one of our board priorities. We believe parents and guardians are the primary educators of their children and recognize the importance of parental engagement in our school communities.
Every school year, the board holds Parent and Trustee Forums in November, January and March. These forums provide an opportunity for trustees to establish a crucial channel of communication with parents and guardians; an avenue to share information to ensure best educational practice and gain valuable insight that supports board decision-making and advocacy for our students. Topics range from district priorities and curriculum to the importance of collaboration and human connectivity. The first 2018-2019 forum is Tuesday, Nov. 27. A full schedule is available on the School Council page at cssd.ab.ca under the Parents tab.

The success of excellence in publicly-funded Catholic education and our mission to live and learn in our Catholic faith depends on all members of our community. Together, we ensure the values of faith, caring, respect, responsibility, trust and family fill our hallways and form an inclusive learning experience that shapes our students into loving, positive contributors to society.
