Hello again after a couple of months,

I’d like to share that we hired a new hall rentals coordinator, Ana. She has been working hard at getting rentals over the next few months sorted. We’re excited to add her onto our team.

In April, we will have our first casino fundraiser after what has been three years now. It is at Cowboy’s Casino downtown. Please sign up to volunteer as we are looking to fill several positions. This is our single biggest fundraiser, and we will not have the opportunity again for 18 months. We use most of the funds received for maintenance on our building and events we host for members.

We still have several volunteer positions to fill. We need someone to step forward to be our Stampede Day coordinator as we will not be able to host the event this year unless we have a lead to organize. This event could be just breakfast again like we did last year or a full day event with breakfast, as well as a canteen and saloon in the evening. We are also looking for a few directors for our board: events director, VP-external, and treasurer.

We have scheduled a special meeting to approve financial documents for March 14. This will again be a virtual meeting and you can sign up on our website if you plan to attend.

The pub is open every Friday (excluding long weekends) at 7 PM to gather with your neighbours – several board games, as well as the pool table and shuffleboard are available. Come on down and check it out when you have a chance. As well we have regular adult pub nights and will be hosting a St. Patrick’s Day Party with live music this year!

Also exciting that the Tiny Tots program has started up again and we are looking for families with young children to come and play together, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday mornings. Drop in welcome.

Finally, we are again hosting a LEGO competition for Renfrew LEGO builders. As some of you may know, I am a LEGO builder myself and I am so so happy to be able to share building Lego together with the community. On display will be replicas of the Stanley Jones School and Stanley’s Jones Grocery Store, as well as other buildings that I have created and would like to share with you again. This is March 11, 2023, public viewing from 1 to 3 pm at the Hall.

You can find up to date information on our website and our social media channels with information on registering for upcoming events, meetings and volunteer opportunities.

Thank you,

Mary Grace Linton
