2021 Annual General Meeting – Date Updated
The Associations Annual General Meeting is scheduled on Thursday, October 21 at 7:00 pm. Originally, we scheduled the AGM on September 30, but soon after realized that September 30 is the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. We feel it is important to reflect on the legacy of residential schools, so we rescheduled the meeting to October. In October, you will receive the AGM package via email or physical mail depending on whether you have provided us with your email address. If you haven’t already done so, please provide us with your email address at [email protected].
Due to the rising concern of COVID-19, we ask everyone who plans to attend the AGM contact the office via email at [email protected]. We need to track numbers and ensure the safety of our members. The Government has implemented restrictions in recent weeks, and it is uncertain at this point what restrictions will be in place at the time of the AGM. Please note that a face covering will likely be mandatory. We will provide further updates in the AGM package and via email.
If you prefer not to attend the meeting, please participate by completing a proxy form and retuning it to us via email, mail, or drop it off in the building mail slot. Thank you for your participation!
Annual Membership Fees – Past Due
Membership fees are now past due. Invoices for your Annual Membership Fees were mailed out in March and payments were due April 1.
Important: Membership fees are mandatory, not optional. Membership fee charges are secured by an encumbrance which is registered on the title to your property. If you are not sure whether you must pay the fee, please review the most updated version of your certificate of title and determine if there is an encumbrance registered by McKenzie Lake Residents Association. If there is an encumbrance on title, then it is mandatory for you to pay the fee. You can also contact our office for confirmation.
Methods of payment include:
- Online payment via credit card.
- Telepay via Credit card.
- Debit and Cash – During Office hours (the Office may be closed at this time. Please confirm on our website).
- Cheque – Mailed or inserted in the building mailbox.
- Sorry, we do not accept credit cards in person or e-transfers.

We continue to use Ivrnet Central, which is a web-based program that you can access from any phone, computer, or tablet as long as you have an internet connection. Once you have access to the system, the following functions are available:
- Online and telephone payments.
- View past payment receipts and outstanding invoices.
- Update profiles of those in your family and entourage.
- Beach Club and Shelter availability calendar and bookings.
- Receive important information via email campaigns and notifications.
- Program listing, marketing, and registration.
In order to take advantage of the systems functionality, we need to update your account with your email address. If you haven’t already done so, please provide us with your email address at [email protected].
MLRA Boundaries
We understand there are homes in McKenzie Lake that receive this news publication but are not entitled to MLRA membership. These areas include – Mt Allan, Mt Douglas, Mt Apex, Mt Aberdeen, and some homes on Mt McKenzie Drive. We do apologize but these areas are not entitled to MLRA membership. The Association boundary lines are determined by the registered Articles of Association, which is a document that specifies the regulations for a company’s operation. The MLRA Board cannot arbitrarily alter the boundary line.

Grants from the Alberta Government
On behalf of the members of the McKenzie Lake Residents Association, the Board of Directors extends a big thank you to the Alberta Government for their generous donations through the Alberta Lottery Fund to help fund renovations completed to the interior and exterior of the buildings over the last couple years. Thank you, Alberta!
The most recent grant we received is to help fund an upcoming large project that will completely change the park. The concrete pad and surrounding area will be upgraded substantially, and will include a basketball/bounce court, natural play feature, an ice trail that will be a skating loop in the winter and walking trail in the summer. Outdoor exercise equipment will be installed around the trail and there will be new seating areas. We will also be upgrading the main fire pit to be situated in a new pavilion on a large deck surface.
We have been working with a Landscape Architect firm these past several months and have nearly finalized a development design with construction scheduled to start in early September. This will impact access to the park so please obey signage and stay away from construction areas. Stage 1 will commence after the Labor Day long weekend and then pause over the winter. Project construction will resume in spring 2022 and be finished in summer. We are very excited about this project and can’t wait for our members to experience the upgrades. Please understand that a project of this size is a significant amount of work and construction so areas will be closed for months at a time. We anticipate that the new ice trail and tot skating area will be open for the skating season, and this project will not impact lake skating.
Thank you in advance for your patience and understanding!
