Queensland’s August President’s Message

Hi Everyone:

August is here and we are starting to get things organized again for our fall program openings. We are not sure at this time exactly how all of this is going to work, but the board is trying hard to work with the Alberta Health and the Government to keep everyone safe and healthy.

We have Helen back with the Yoga Program. Again, she is having her yoga sessions every Tuesday morning. She has a limited amount of people who can attend these sessions, so please contact Linda Brown at 403-278-3366 for more info.

Our Pickleball group started up in July and, again, there is a limited number of players that can attend. You must have your own racket. All equipment used from the Queensland Diamond Cove Community will be disinfected. Preregistration is advised to ensure a spot for that time. I am not sure at this present time as to how many days or evenings will be available. Please check out our website, QueenslandDiamondCove.com, or our Facebook page for more information and updates. Please phone the community center to register.

Peter Demong will be having his annual Membership BBQ on September 19, 2020. It will be held at Centennial High School. Hope everyone can make it. We always have a great time there.

WE ARE STILL WAITING TO SEE WHEN WE CAN HAVE THE AGM.

We will keep you updated on that also.

We are finally getting some renos done at the community center. Things are starting to come together.

There isn’t much left to say, except that the yards throughout the community look wonderful this year. It is nice to see all the green grass and flowers. The community looks clean and beautiful. Thank you to all who have worked so hard to make it so. Have you noticed the flowers in front of the community center? As usual, the garden club caregivers have done a fantastic job. Thank you to all.

I will talk to you again and remember to wash your hands and keep the distancing in place.

Judith
