Calling all Gardeners
Various community members have expressed interest in a gardening group. Once the weather is right for it, we would listen to speakers, do hands-on projects and walking garden tours throughout Glenbrook, get involved with the Glenbrook Greenthumbs Community boxes, and beautify the neighbourhood along the way. Stay tuned for more specifics next month.

Tai Chi
We are delighted by how many Glenbrookers have been joining us at the hall for gentle exercise on Tuesday mornings. There’s still room for you to come and experience the relaxation. Wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothes, dry, non-slip shoes, and a nametag.

Knitting and Crafts
This past Christmas, I made boot socks for my grandchildren, which was an opportunity to use up small amounts of leftover yearn. They were very colourful and each sock was unique, but all the colour changes can get tedious. I started by using the Russian Join method, but I wasn’t thrilled with the outcome. It works fine with fine sock yarn, but I was using a #4 yarn instead of a #1. So, I searched online for something I would like better, and I found a tutorial that gives six different methods to use for changing colours in knitting. I used the ‘Weave in As You Go” method and I was very happy with the result.

Join us for a variety of board games, word games, and cards. Meet new neighbours, exercise your mind, enjoy a potluck snack bar, and have fun. Bring a mug, a nametag, dry footwear, and a favourite game if you wish.
