An informal group getting together for socializing, events, and mutual support. All are welcome.
Chat and Coffee Time: On Wednesdays from 9:15 to 11:15 am we have weekly Chat and Coffee time in the Oakridge Community Centre (OCC). This is an opportunity to meet other Oakridge residents and nearby neighbours to socialize over coffee.
In August, a friendly robot dropped in from the University of Calgary whose staff is looking for volunteers to help robots build capacity to interact with individuals of various age groups in homes and other settings.
Tuesday Walks: 10:00 am. About one hour plus café time. Different routes, easy and moderate, at Glenmore Reservoir, in the Oakridge community, and at Fish Creek Park. Our calendar is posted in the glass cabinet by the OCC concession counter. Text or phone Gary at 403-831-5682 for location details.
Speaker Sessions: About once a month a speaker is invited to share information or life experiences with the group. Recent talks have included a secure password storage system, decluttering, and nutrition for optimum health.
