Good day Crossroads!

This is my first time writing for the newsletter, and I feel honoured! In September, I took on the role of First Vice President for the Crossroads Community Association, which has brought me a lot of joy. I look forward to serving our community.

My family and I moved back to Mayland Heights this past February. I had lived here since 1986, prior to moving away for two years. I’ve always called Crossroads my home and was fortunate enough to raise my son here. Now, along with my husband, son and stepdaughter, we are happy to call Crossroads home again!

December is an exciting month and, personally, Christmas is my favourite holiday. Crossroads has some exciting events in store:

December 1: General Meeting at 7:00 PM

December 9: Seniors Dinner at 6:00 PM

December 14: Movie Night featuring “A Bugs Life”

December 17: Art at the Crossroads at 6:00 PM

December 29: Winterfest Winter Wonderland. This is a free event and runs from 1:00 to 4:00 PM at the Crossroads Community Hall, with skating, sleighrides, hot chocolate, and hotdogs. There will also be maple taffy making and a craft station where you can learn how to make a bird feeder.

Remember, you can always book your Christmas events at the Crossroads Community Hall, as well! Please contact our hall representative Nickie by phone at 403-277-6201, or by fax at 403-277-6205

Crossroads has a new Bingo Coordinator, Nancy Harris. Nancy continues to work hard to keep our bingos running. She has devoted so much of her time and it doesn’t go unnoticed. We are always looking for volunteers as it takes anywhere between 10 and 16 people to run each bingo event. Bingos are various days of the week and times of the day. We have a full bingo schedule with information on how to volunteer and what you can gain by volunteering on our website, www.crossroadsyyc.com.

If you are interested in being a part of our board, please attend our monthly General Meeting. We currently have a VP2 vacancy, as well as many volunteer opportunities at various times throughout the year. Crossroads Community Association has had so many new and fun events this past year, we look forward to another exciting year of Movie Nights, Brewfests, Pub Nights, and garden developments, just to name a few.

Contact our President, Annette, at [email protected] or drop in to one of our meetings, the first Sunday of each month at 7:00 PM

From my family and my Crossroads Family to yours, have a safe Holiday season. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
