Happy March, Glenbrook!
As spring quickly approaches, we all look forward to the warmer days ahead and having daylight long into the evenings. Unfortunately, this means our outdoor rinks will be going away for another year, but I know that a number of kids in the neighbourhood are looking forward to getting back on the basketball courts. During this time of transition for our outdoor sport areas, as the ice on the rinks starts to melt, it takes time until we can set up the courts and open them back up for summer activities. Once ready, the sport courts will open for all Glenbrook residents to enjoy.
If you weren’t already aware, we are still accepting nominations for our two annual awards until May 23. The first is the Glenbrook Lifetime Member Award, given to a deserving Glenbrook resident with 15 or more years of dedicated volunteer service to our community. The second is the Glenbrook Community Partnership Award, given to a local business or organization with 10 or more years of work contributing to life in Glenbrook. Nomination forms are available at Glenbrook Hall or by request to [email protected].
Please continue to watch your speed in our playground and school speed zones, which run until 9:00 pm each evening. With the switch to daylight saving time coming up soon, our residents will be out and about later into the evenings. Drive safe and take care on our streets.
