It was so encouraging and refreshing to gather together once again and connect with everyone at celebrations held throughout the Summer.
Renew your driver’s licences/ID cards online: As part of our ongoing commitment to provide more choice and convenience, driver’s licences and ID cards can be renewed online. Albertans want the ease of accessing services from their computers and mobile devices, but still have the option of in-person service. Albertans will be able to keep their cards until their new ones arrive in the mail.
AISH Online: Community and Social Services is enhancing the online application for the Income Support program to reduce red tape. The online application process will enable Albertans to apply for benefits 24/7 from anywhere using a computer or mobile device.
Alberta’s Economy: Alberta’s economic recovery is continuing to drive our province forward. Recently, we saw Alberta’s credit rating upgraded for the first time since 2001. The Alberta Government tabled its first balanced budget in nearly a decade. According to Statistics Canada’s most recent labour force survey, Alberta has created nearly 60,600 net new jobs this year alone. This marks six straight months of job growth for our province. Alberta’s unemployment rate has now dropped to 5.3%, the lowest level it has been since 2015. This is especially impressive when you consider that we are seeing positive net migration that we haven’t seen in almost eight years.
