Presidents Message Crossroads

Hello Crossroads,

Thank you to everyone that joined us and purchased a new 2018-2019 membership. Our Community registration night for programs was another big success. We hope your families get everything you want from these programs.

Back for round 2, another NorthYeast Brewfest is coming October 13th (poster later in the newsletter). Crossroads was the first community to put on an event like this and other communities have asked for our help to put on their own. Marlborough Park, Acadia and our neighbours in Renfrew are planning similar events soon. Thanks Ricardo and John for all your time and effort on this.

Our Crossroads Community Facebook page has been very active. Lots of talk about barriers and condition of our walkways between streets (catwalks) and the city has acted already. Sometimes the squeaky wheel gets the grease. Keep in touch that way and join the conversation. Feel free to post, respond and just keep up to date. ALSO follow our Crossroads Community Safety page, dedicated to safety concerns and tips.

Thank you all for joining us September 9th at our Annual General Meeting. We have an enthusiastic group ready to continue doing great things on behalf of your community. There is still time to join us if you missed the AGM. Reach out to the hall or e mail [email protected] if interested.

Drum Fun is back with a bang, Pub Night is on October 26th and Movie Night returns October 12th. Yoga and Fit2Age continue as well. All details are further on in these pages.

Our first ever Lawn Chair Theatre in September was a ton of fun! We hope you were able to join us and purchase a new membership. Our Seniors event at Aspen Crossing in September was a huge success and a ton of fun!

It’s time to put the garden to bed for the winter, but lots to read about our community gardens further on in the newsletter.

Stay safe Crossroads and Remember your 9pm routine… more in the coming pages
