Greetings again, residents of Hidden Valley and Hanson Ranch, members of the HVCA, and our neighbourhood partners. On behalf of the Board of Directors of the HVCA, I hope that with the changing fall weather, you and your families and friends are keeping healthy and safe.
Your Board of Directors, elected at the June 2021 AGM, have completed the first quarter of this year’s business, and are looking forward to the next two quarters: traditionally our busiest time for community events.
Our top priority for the next few months is completing repairs to the rink boards at the Hidden Hut. We will have a further update in our November newsletter and on our Facebook and website given that confirming availability and timing for replacement boards and the labour to install them is still being worked (I am writing this update in early September). We know from engagement with residents and members, that both the main rink and the pleasure rink are significant features within our community, and we are doing everything we can to ensure their safe availability for programs and public use.
On the topic of engagement, have you taken the opportunity to provide your insights through our Community Needs Assessment Survey (https://www.hiddenhut.org/about-us/contact-us/) or the park space on Hidden Valley Heights (www.h2spaces.org)? Although we’ve been able to get some great feedback at the pop-up food truck events over the summer, these online surveys help us to make sure we capture your concerns directly. You can also use the feedback form on the websites to let us know about concerns in the community that aren’t related directly to bylaws or police issues.
Remember that if you have urgent matters related to City services to contact 311 (311.calgary.ca) or the Calgary Police Services who have updated their reporting processes at https://www.calgary.ca/cps/report-a-crime.html.
That’s all the news I have right now. In November, the Board will have further updates on our winter programming and events. Take care and keep safe.
