Social Seniors’ Card Group
It’s
surprising that the year has moved into May so quickly. The Mid-Sun Seniors’
group has celebrated Valentine’s, St. Patrick’s, and Easter with a few
decorations and special treats. Each month has brought new seniors, 55+, to
enjoy playing cards and share conversation with other seniors. In mid-April, a
large group gathered to participate in the intrigue of a murder mystery with
Pegasus Performances. Everyone was involved in trying to determine “who
done it.” The buffet dinner lived up to high expectations for this
memorable evening. And. of course, each Thursday brought the satisfaction of
indulging in cards and the opportunity to learn a new card or board game.
Currently,
we are in the process of planning potlucks at Sundance and Midnapore Lakes,
information sessions of interest to seniors, some cultural events, monthly
dinners at local restaurants, and daily events in recognition of Seniors’ Week
in June. Watch for further information as we welcome meeting you during these
times. Most senior activities require a Mid-Sun Community Association
membership, which is available at the MSCA office.

Weekly
Card and Games: Thursday, May 7, 14, 21, and 28 10:00 am to 12:00 pm or
1:30 to 3:30 pm at Mid-Sun Community Centre.
If
you are interested in playing cards and chatting, please drop in for a session
and check us out.
May
Pub Night: TBD,
5:00 to approximately 7:00 pm.
We
gather at a local venue to enjoy supper from the menu. Each person is
responsible for the cost of their own meal, tip, and transportation. For date
and location or to register, contact [email protected].
Bingo:
Monday,
May 25 from 6:30 to 8:30 pm in the Mid-Sun Multipurpose Room.

seniors will gather to play 10 games of varied bingo configurations (straight
line, X, four corners, etc.) with small cash prizes. Coffee and tea are
provided, and a small cash concession is available. Registration is required.

It’s
an opportunity to show appreciation for older adults and their contributions to
the community.
