Queensland Diamond Cove’s President’s Message

Queensland cn

Hi Everyone,

By the time this publication is delivered, school will be out. We have been getting reports of vehicles speeding through the playground zone in front of Haultain Memorial School. Please, I’m asking everyone to slow down in all playground zones and watch out for all the children riding bikes, skateboards, scooters, etc.

Our AGM went well. Thank you to all the directors who have agreed to remain on the board for another term. Welcome to our new members: Julie Racine has volunteered to be our Youth Activities Director and Martine Myrthu has volunteered to assist her in that role. I’d also like to welcome Judith Nichols back as she volunteered to take on the role of Social Director. And finally, I’d also like to welcome our new Community Resource Officer, Brandon Gillis.

Cleanup Day on June 10 went well. Thank you so much to the City of Calgary, all our wonderful volunteers, Techno Trash, and Recon Metals for all your help. I’d also like to thank Bob Hall and other members of the Deer Ridge community for the coffee and doughnuts and for assisting in the cleanup.

Our Pre-Stampede Community Family Dance was a success. Thank you to all the volunteers for their hard work in making this event a success. I’d also like to thank Monarch Music for the great music and Jeff Wenzel, from Calgary Interiors, for the awesome door prizes. Kudos to the Haultain Memorial School Parents’ Association for looking after the concession with all proceeds going toward the new playground fund.

Have a safe and fun summer. I’ll talk to you all next month.

Cheers,

Brian
