Summer is here! I don’t know about you, but I was on top of gardening much sooner than I thought I would be. Planting, seeding, pruning, all were able to take place much sooner than past seasons. I truly hope everyone has plans to enjoy the warm, long days of sunlight.

While it may seem like a while ago, I wanted to give a shout out to the amazing volunteers who helped with the Community Cleanup Day. With an assortment of recycling/landfill stations, hundreds of carloads were able to drop off unwanted items. The parking lot outside the hall looked like an efficient assembly line operation. Well done to everyone who participated.

The Parade of Garage Sales was also a highlight. It was great to see neighbours gather, and its great many household items could find a new home for a small fee.

The board continues to assist with project management and renovations at the hall. A lot of work has gone into preparing for the AGM, which will have passed by the time you read this letter.

The HCA board is also taking a break for the summer, but I encourage you to come to our first September meeting and check us out!

Happy Canada Day, Stampede, Folk Fest, and more!

Sincerely,

Stephanie Thomas
