Working for Alberta Families

I hope you are all enjoying your summer. Our government has been busy supporting new jobs, assisting Albertans with the rising cost of living, and improving services that we depend on. Here are a few highlights:

Diversifying Alberta’s Economy to Create Jobs

Alberta’s tech sector is growing rapidly, and our government is positioning the province as a leader in quantum science-driven technologies, while also growing the economy and creating jobs. The Alberta Technology and Innovation Strategy lays out a path to help create 20,000 jobs and add $5 billion more in annual GDP by 2030.

More Ambulances, More Paramedics

Recognizing that our EMS system is under strain, our government is investing an additional $65 million this year, including ten new ambulances in Calgary. This funding will keep more ambulances in service, improve coverage and response time, and will give paramedics much-needed rest. It is part of our commitment to build more capacity in our health care system.

Making Life More Affordable

Alberta has taken significant steps to make life more affordable by suspending the 13 cent per litre fuel tax, providing $150 in electricity rebates, and implementing a price protection program for natural gas, ensuring that Albertans will not experience price spikes this coming winter. More support is coming.

Supporting Our Students

As part of the Child and Youth Well-being Action Plan, our government is investing an additional $113 million to provide targeted supports for students experiencing mental health and academic challenges, including access to specialized assessments, and learning loss supports.
