Chaparral President’s Message – December

December has arrived, full of gift shopping, decorating, eggnog and lots of good cheer. I hope this holiday season finds you and yours well and you find the time to slow it down and enjoy what’s important to you. If a leisure skate is something you enjoy (or don’t and want to improve your skills) the volunteers hope to have our ice rink open in Chaparral Valley this month, weather permitting. Located on the large green space of Chaparral Valley Square this rink is for pleasure skating only during daytime hours. Join our Facebook page to get update on ice conditions, hot chocolate and fireside family events.

The Chaparral Community Association is pleased to be hosting the annual Chaparral Festival of Lights contest this month. As part of the judging crew, my fellow judges and I have come to love judging the contest not only to see all the beautiful lights and décor, but to take the time to visit the entirety of Chaparral. I encourage you to do the same and enjoy the sights this holiday season – we have a beautiful community to call home.

Does your neighbour do a great job of decorating? If you see a home that should be recognized please enter their household by emailing the address to [email protected] or nominate through Facebook at ChaparralCA. Entry deadline is Sunday December 9th.

Then on Wednesday December 19th mark your calendars to stop by ATB in Walden, our community sponsor, between 5:30 and 7:00 pm for a treat, hot chocolate and a community map of the winners. We hope to see you then.

On behalf of the Chaparral Community Association we wish you a safe and happy holiday season. See you in the New Year!
