  1. It’s Time to Renew or Purchase Your RCA Annual Membership

September is the perfect time to buy an RCA membership to experience everything the RCA has to offer. The first RCA member, David McWilliam, believes every household should have one. He encourages anyone considering a membership to not hesitate, as it’s a way of showing pride in your community.

  1. Fall Programs

Fall programs will be starting again in the upcoming weeks. We are happy to introduce several new programs, such as Learn to Knit, Tai-Chi, and Crafts Club.

  1. Riverbend Fall Fair

We will be hosting our Annual Riverbend Fall Fair on Saturday, November 2, 2019, from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm. The central location of Riverbend community ensures high shopper attendance and a great variety of vendors participating. With the help of many volunteers, the 2018 Fair had more than 500 shoppers in attendance and was one of RCA’s best events to date. Vendors can register online. We will also require volunteers to provide support during the event. Registrations for both vendors and volunteers are available on www.riverbendcommunity.ca.

  1. Mark your calendars: The Annual General Meeting is Tuesday, November 19, 2019!

Why should you attend the AGM?

    • Meet RCA Directors face-to-face
    • Vote on new RCA by-laws
    • Vote in election for our new Directors
    • Hear about the RCA financial situation
    • Hear updates about RCA Strategic Plan for 2019-2021
    • Network with your neighbors
    • Hear updates about issues impacting your community
  1. Thank You for a Great Summer, Riverbend!

We would like to extend a special thank you to several partners who made the summer in Riverbend more exciting this year!

    • Thank you to Calgary Minor Soccer Association for stepping in last minute to coordinate a Summer Soccer Program, and facilitating soccer skill building workshops. Almost 90 children enjoyed the program throughout the summer.

Please note: We must secure a League Coordinator in order to run this program again next year. If you are interested in this great volunteer opportunity, please reach out to us at [email protected].

    • Thank you to ECCO Recycling for sponsoring our Mobile Skate Park. It was a big hit in our community.
    • Special thanks to those who contributed to the INSTAllation project:
      • Federation of Calgary Communities for sponsoring the project
      • University of Calgary Urban Studies students for developing INSTAllation idea and plans
      • Tanya Fir MLA office for providing the frames
      • Students of Riverbend and Holy Angel’s Schools for preparing INSTAllations
      • Mission Hill and RCA Board volunteers for installing INSTAllations around our community
      • Riverbend Residents who posted photos on social media to share their love of Riverbend
