A new decade! I am looking forward to new beginnings. Are you on track with your New Year resolutions? I am certainly trying to keep focused on mine – day 10.

I just wanted to mention Valentine’s Day; be sure to treat your significant other to yummy chocolates or dinner from any of our great local Kingsland businesses. Valentine’s is celebrated around the world with candy, flowers and gifts are exchanged between loved ones, all in the name of St. Valentine. Bring a simile to someone special!

KCA hired Brian to maintain the rinks this year which was previously done by volunteers. Our long-time Kingsland resident Ken managed the task for many years. He decided to step down this year. The hockey rink is ready for your enjoyment. The rink is open to the public and can be reserved for private events by calling the hall office, 403-255-1400.

The Winterfest is scheduled for Saturday, February 29, 2020. Mark the event in your calendar and come out to join the fun. More information will be posted on the website. The Cerebral Palsy Association will also have a donation truck parked at the hall.

A KCA resident artist and a second artist, in collaboration with the preschool, will be creating art pieces that will be installed to upgrade the catwalk/crosswalk in Kingsland. Stay tuned for the official installation date.

Residents, we need more volunteers for the board; if you can help, please phone the Hall Manager, she will direct you to the appropriate person to assist you.

I will leave you with a Valentine quote:

“It is the things in common that make relationships enjoyable, but it is the little differences that make them interesting.” – Todd Ruthman
