WSCRCA President’s Message for July

WestSprings cn

Over the last four years, it has been my pleasure serving the communities of Cougar Ridge and West Springs as the President of the WSCR Community Association. I can still remember when my family moved into the community in 2009, and the instant sense of pride we felt within this community. After joining the board in 2010, I began to understand that our community cohesiveness was heavily due to the hard work of a handful of passionate volunteers who understood how important it was to bring people together through sport, educational opportunities, fostering local merchants, and community events. If it wasn’t for these amazing volunteers, both of my kids would not have learned to skate, play soccer, and even babysit in our local community. My family has also had many opportunities to meet other families in the community and build friendships which we would not have otherwise had an opportunity to cultivate without all these amazing community programs.

As the outgoing President, I want to give a special thanks to all the volunteers who have served on the board and contributed their precious personal time over the years. You gave up countless hours with your families to help plan and facilitate community programs, as well as bringing your expertise to help behind the scenes. For this we say thank you! It has been a pleasure serving with you and I look forward to continuing to be part of growing and building our local community with you.

I want to also thank all the volunteers who answered the call to sign up for our amazing community events/courses/sports over the years. Without you, it would be impossible to run these programs and bring the level of quality we continue to see at each event.

I’d also like to acknowledge and thank our community sponsors who help support our programs and give back to our local community each year. Supporting our local merchants helps to keep our community shopping and growing together. It has been a pleasure teaming up with you over the years.

Finally, I am excited to introduce you to our incoming President, Angelina Marian. Angelina has served on the WSCRCA Board for several years supporting our programs and brings her passion and creativity to this role. Please help me in welcoming Angelina to her new role. I know that she will bring fresh ideas and energy to the WSCR Community Association.

Regards,

Paul Ghazar
