How wonderful to see everyone after all this time!
Getting together in person promises enjoyment prime.
Do you remember the scoring?
I recall this game is never boring.
Numbers above the line, some numbers below.
We are all playing hesitantly and a little slow.
But who cares – can you add up the scores?
Guess it’s up to me, everyone else is out the doors.
Some things haven’t changed at all.
What’s the bid, who dealt, who leads?
Just a moment, I do a recount and plead…
I have zero points and only three suits,
Count your cards, I’ll bet you’re all in cahoots
I need more coffee, yes, that will help
But I can’t leave the table just yet….
We played rummy all last year
And won money playing 21 with nickel bets.
Some girls are serious. some like to have fun
I guess if you don’t pay attention,
Someone else will have won.
“Oh, you should have, why did you?”
“I don’t play transfers, only had 5 points.”
The comments are always the same.
