Happy New Year Fairviewers!

Thank you for a wonderful year full of community events, connecting with neighbours, and fun volunteer experiences.

In early December, our amazing team of rink volunteers set up boards, tarps, and the seating for our outdoor rink in Flavelle Park. Thanks to all who came out! Volunteers work hard all season to keep the rink in tip-top shape for everyone to enjoy. Please be mindful of other skaters and respect the space. We’ve included a few tips in this newsletter so we can make the skating experience positive for everyone.

The community association hosted our Bowl with Santa event at Toppler Bowl on December 10. Thanks to our awesome organizers, Melody Eisenbart and Alicia Davis, for coordinating the event. They organized treats and crafts, in addition to all the usual bowling fun! This is a great community event that brings together our residents as well as some local businesses like Candy Multiverse in Acadia Plaza, Olde Fair Popcorn, and of course, Toppler Bowl.

December was a busy month for the City of Calgary Mobility (Roads) team. The damaged curbs and bollards along Fairmount Drive were fixed and concrete repairs were completed. Yellow and black reflective signs have also been added to the bump-out curbs to improve visibility along the route. Fairmount Drive continues to be a busy thoroughfare, providing access to Fairview residents, schools, NaAC, and various businesses along the way.

All the best in 2024!
