Canyon Meadow’s News from the Office for April

Spring has arrived! A busy time of renewal and growth, and like most people, it is my favorite season of the year.

Speaking of renewal, your annual community membership expires on April 30. If you purchased your current membership on our website, it will renew automatically, or you can stop into the community office to purchase or renew your membership by cash, cheque, or debit.

Spring also brings our annual Community Cleanup Day, Sunday May 29 from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm. Together with the City of Calgary Community Standards and Waste and Recycling we will have garbage trucks on-site to collect household trash items that are too large for your black bins. One of the city trucks will collect household organics (tree branches and clippings, leaves and grass).

As always, we will have additional vendors on-site for the day where members can safely dispose of propane tanks, car and trailer batteries, access paper shredding, drop off electronics, and donate gently used household items for charity. Limited pickup service is available for our senior members that cannot get large items to the community center.

Watch for more details on our website and in next month’s Chronicle.

If you are thinking of gardening and landscaping, (because it’s spring) and you think you need to order a “Big Yellow Bag” of black garden soil, compost, or mulch, you can support your community association and save yourself some cash. For every Big Yellow Bag ordered using our “community code” you will save $5 off per bag and the community will receive $10 per bag. Our special code for discount and donation is CMCA22. See the poster in this issue for additional details.

Coming to Canyon Meadows in May – the Good Food Box Program. Community members can order boxes of fresh fruits and vegetables. Watch for all the details in next month’s Chronicle and on our website.

Lastly, be sure to check out the new “In Your Community” section in the newsletter where you will learn about the programs and services that operate out of our two community halls.

Until next month…
