Happy December, Glenbrook!

With Christmas and the holiday season just around the corner, I would like to take this time to wish you and your family all the best during this festive time of year.

A quick review of some of the administrative changes we will be making following our AGM this past October. First, we will be moving the date of our AGM to the first Thursday in December starting next year. This move is necessary for us to have the most current audited financial statements available at the AGM. Therefore, our next AGM will be held in December 2023, and we will gauge the response to this change at that time.

We will also be making changes to the contact information for the Glenbrook Community Association and inside the Glenbrook Globe newsletter. With the ever-increasing frequency of online scams and identity theft, we will be limiting the amount of personal information about our board members that is accessible to the public through the newsletter. We will have all communications go through our office ([email protected] or 403-249-6664) going forward, and we understand this will slow the time it will take us to respond. I ask for your patience, as we do not want to be the reason that someone becomes subject to a scam.

Lastly, in 2023 we will be looking at the possibility of hiring a paid staff member for the Glenbrook Community Association. The position will mainly deal with a variety of administrative and financial duties, along with some light maintenance work.

As we all know, winter can be a challenging time for Calgarians. Please take a moment to watch for some of our neighbours who might struggle more than most. A friendly gesture to help a neighbour with shoveling their sidewalk or driveway, or even to help someone carry groceries or parcels to their car when parking lots get icy, can go a long way. If you know of anyone who regularly helps a neighbour out with shoveling their walk, please nominate them as a Snow Angel by calling 311.

I hope to see you at our outdoor rinks this winter. Have a great holiday and a happy new year.

All the best,

Murray

President, Glenbrook Community Association
