Highwood’s October Report from Board Members

The summer of 2018 has come and gone, and not counting the air quality, the weather was great! The Social Committee hosted our two annual events; Movie in the Park and The Highwood BBQ. The Movie in the Park was very successful. Approximately 100 people attended, and the screen did not blow over in the wind! This year we rented a screen that is made to withstand wind. We screened the movie Coco. Please let us know if you have any movie suggestions for next summer.

The attendance at the Highwood BBQ was low due to cold weather and poor air quality from the BC wild fires. The air quality didn’t stop the band from rocking out. The band, Summer Chill, played a wonderful mix of new and old hits. One of the band members, Milton Kim, arranged for a trio of his music students (some local Highwoodians) to perform. There were proud parents in the audience. The students are very talented musicians. The BBQ also had a beer garden, and games on loan from the City of Calgary (mini golf, parachute, giant jenga and tug-a-war).

We hope everyone has a great winter. Next event is the Halloween party. See you there!
