Hello Neighbours,

Happy October! We’re starting to feel the cold nips and the frosty air. With the season comes a slew of winter fun and activities ahead. So, dress warm and mark your calendars!

AGM Recap

We are grateful to all ACA members and residents who attended the AGM in September. We were pleased to establish a quorum which allowed us to proceed with our meeting agenda. We elected new executives and board directors. We voted to accept the new brand for the Acadia Community Association. We also received reports for the previous years’ activities. We hope you got to learn about the exciting initiatives happening at the ACA this year and took the opportunity to network with your fellow community members. Keep an eye out on our website for the highlights of the annual reports presented at the AGM.

Crafting & Wine Night

October 5

Your ACA will be hosting another popular evening workshop with Chalk Couture in the ARC Social Lounge on Thursday, October 5. Come out from 6:30 to 9:00 pm to create a DIY custom craft project using Chalkogy ink and paste.

You will be able to design and complete a décor item to take home. Whether you are crafty or not, anyone of any age can participate! The cost is $35 per person and will include all you need to realize your project. Wine and beverages will be available for purchase. Visit acadia.community/community-programs to register.

We’re looking to connect with local artists to facilitate more Crafting & Wine Nights! Please contact [email protected] if you want to get involved and gain exposure for your talents and business!

SouthYeast Brewfest

October 7

Join us for beer, games, and live music during our fourth annual Brewfest! On Saturday, October 7, we will have five local breweries showcasing their best on tap from 2:00 to 6:00 pm at the ARC.

Participating breweries include Annex Ales, Brewsters, New Level Brewing, OT Brewing Company, and Stony Slope Brewing. Tickets are $25 each and include four flights of beer ($5 per extra flight).

Charcuterie boards are also available for pre-purchase and will be ready for pick-up on arrival at the door. Visit www.acadia.community/brewfest for full event details and to purchase tickets. You won’t want to miss this!

ACA Social Night

November 9

We had another great evening at September’s Social Night connecting with all of you who attended. Seeing the familiar faces of our longtime residents and those of you who are new to the community is what these events are for. Don’t forget to make it to the next one on Thursday, November 9! Like always, there will be refreshments, snacks, board games, and great conversation! Join us at the ARC Social Lounge from 5:30 to 7:30 pm.

Casino Fundraiser: Volunteers Needed

The casino fundraiser event is our biggest fundraiser and is critical to the ACA to support the initiatives we have planned for the community of Acadia. We’re looking for volunteers who are able to help fill some casino positions on December 17 and 18 at the Deerfoot Inn & Casino! You’ll be well-trained, fed, and assisted in having some fun while getting to see something that you normally would not get to see! For additional information, please contact [email protected] or [email protected].

ACA Member Benefits

Energize Health – South Location is our newest I Heart Acadia Business Partner offering ACA members a great perk! We Need Your Help!

We’re always looking for people to join our team as the success of our events and our ability to deliver on community projects and initiatives are dependent on our volunteers. If you are available to help with any of these, please email us at [email protected].
