I must confess, I am not a self-proclaimed movie lover; but some days, you just need to lay on the couch with a snack and throw on a feel-good movie. Here’s a list of some of my personal favorites.

Legally Blonde (2001) I’m sorry, but if you don’t like this movie, we can’t be friends. This cult classic is filled with laughs, a few important messages and best of all, hello Reese Witherspoon! I can’t count how many times I’ve watched this film, but it never gets old. The catchy quotes and the friendships created are just that good.

Mamma Mia (2018) This is another movie that is great for cheering someone up. If you don’t like musicals, this probably isn’t for you, but I still urge you to give it a shot. For anyone who isn’t aware, Mamma Mia is based on music from the band ABBA. Originally made for theatre, these classic songs were turned into a musical which is pretty cool. The story focuses on family and relationships and sneaks in a lot of fun moments. The second movie is also worth a watch.

Rush Hour (1998) This film is a bit older now, but it is still funny. Featuring Jackie Chan and Chris Rock, the pair have a great dynamic. There’s something about a strait-laced cop working with a complete goof ball that always works well. From some over the top fight moves to the hilariously high-pitched screams from the main characters, this movie is sure to put a smile on your face.

Bridesmaids (2011) This movie which centers around feuding best friends and a group of vastly different women is sure to make you laugh. Bordering on ridiculous, this comedy written by Annie Mumolo and Kristen Wiig is a fun film about friendship, jealousy and you guessed it – bridesmaids.
