Bonavista Cares Update for October

Hard to believe fall is underway, Bonavista Cares has been busy to make sure Calgarians young and old started the season in a good way.

We had a blast supporting Parkland Cares annual Backpack event, providing students in high school, junior high, and elementary with all the school essentials. Families in Thorncliffe, Huntington Hills, and Deer Run were so grateful to receive $2,500 of school supplies making sure their kiddos had a great start to the school year!

The last harvest of potatoes, beets, carrots, kale, and beans went to the Calgary Food Bank in September. Bonavista Cares gardeners donated over 150 pounds of fresh vegetables and fruit this year! Thanks to our neighbours who make this annual harvest a bountiful one!

We were happy to host our September meeting with Parkland Cares. It is always so fun to connect with our neighbours, meet new people, and plan all the community building for the year ahead. If you missed our meeting don’t worry! Bonavista Cares welcomes folks of all ages to come together throughout the year for some fun. Our hope is that we can build a strong community while making a positive impact on the lives of Calgarians.

We hope you can join us! Follow us on Facebook, Instagram, or send an email to [email protected] for more information.
