Hello Evergreen neighbours,
Fall is here, and it’s been a busy September for Calgary’s
Evergreen Community Association. Thank you to everyone who came and helped out.
September Recap
A big thank you to everyone who joined us for our Fourth
Annual Multicultural Festival on September 26, themed “Threads of the World”.
Thank you also goes to our sponsors. It was a wonderful celebration of the
cultures that make Evergreen such a welcoming community, and it wouldn’t have
been possible without our volunteers and sponsors.
We held our annual Community Cleanup, where our incredible
volunteers helped hundreds of Evergreen residents safely dispose of unwanted
items. To everyone who joined us on September 5 — your generosity and hard work
truly help keep Evergreen clean, green, and thriving.
Our volunteers showed remarkable dedication, working from 8:00
am to 3:00 pm in rainy weather without slowing down. Their commitment made the
day a success.
A special thank-you also goes to Youth Central for sending a
fantastic group of youth volunteers to both events. Their energy, resilience,
and teamwork were outstanding, and we were grateful to have them with us.
Annual General Meeting (AGM)
Thursday, October 8
7:00 to 8:00 pm.
Cardel South Rec Centre
We’ll go over the past year, share what’s ahead, and elect
the new Board. If you’re a CECA member, please come out and vote — if you can’t
attend in person, proxy forms are available on our website (myceca.ca). We need
at least 20 members participating for the meeting to count, so every vote
matters.
We’re also looking for volunteers to join the Board,
including for our Development Director and Permit Director roles, and we always
welcome volunteers to help out at our events. If you have a little time to
give, we’d love to hear from you at [email protected].
As always, you can stay up to date through our website,
Facebook, or Instagram, and you can reach me directly any time at
[email protected].
Talk to you soon,
