Development and Traffic Report

I would just like to highlight what has been happening and
going on behind the scenes this past month, in no particular order:

1.    We
are still in need of someone to take over our Treasurer position. Our current
treasurer, Lisa, is happy to transition the new person. This is a critical
position on the Board. We do have a bookkeeper and procedures in place to
simplify this role as much as possible. We appreciate you considering us for
this important volunteer position.

2.    We
have been meeting regularly with the City, Canada Lands, and Sarina Homes to
come up with some traffic calming measures for 33 Ave SW between Crowchild and
37 St. A new roundabout is required for the entrance to Richmond Green
Park/Quesnay Wood Drive. We want to make sure this corridor is considered
wholistically. We are also pushing for a world class pedestrian corridor to
connect the park space through to Marda Loop. Sarina Homes is playing an
integral role in this project.

3.    Thank
you, Rosa M and all the Clean Up Day volunteers, for another hugely successful
event! Special thanks as well to the Smith family for stepping up to cover the
heavy lifting into the trucks. Over 13,820 kg of waste was collected. Thanks
for your support!

4.    As
development activity in the community increases, we are seeing more traffic
concerns. The police work on volume of incidents, so if you see traffic issues
that are causing safety concerns, please take the time to send a Traffic
Service Request to the following link,
https://www.calgarypolice.ca/public-safety/traffic-and-road-safety/traffic-reporting.html.

5.    We
are also seeing a lot more graffiti around the neighbourhood. Please take a
moment and report it when you see it. This can be done via the Calgary 3-1-1
App on your phone or computer. https://www.calgary.ca/311/mobile-app.html.

6.    Work
continues on the Hall. We are hoping to have work completed by the end of
September and are planning on being able to host our AGM in the Hall this year.
The date has not yet been set but would likely be November 23.
