To celebrate another growing season, the Hawkwood
Community Garden held a BBQ and potluck at the end of August.
For gardeners, it was a time to compare notes and
admire the colourful array of late-summer veggies and flowers. It was
encouraging to have a number of community members drop by for a closer look at
the garden, and we’re hoping some of them will become members next year.
Our thanks to the Canadian Red Cross and Canada
Service Corps for sponsoring this event.
Our new wildflower bed in full bloom.
The garden’s organizing team along with Hartwig and
Wilma, our adorable garden gnome birdhouses. You’ll be seeing more of the
gnomes next spring!
