Hi
Kincora,
Thank
you to those who came out to the social night and attended our last AGM. For those
who attended, I hope you learned more about us, your neighbours, and how KCA brings
your community together. Also,
congratulations to Annie Chio and Charles Zhang for receiving the Community Hero
Awards for their volunteerism in building a better Kincora.
Since
I am writing this message for the future, I hope we will have new board members
joining us, giving us greater capacity to run more events and projects in the place
where you live!
Board
Updates
Before
I give you an update on upcoming events, I would like to thank Thouseef Usman, our
Director of Communication, for his work keeping our monthly newsletter going and
for sharing information with our community on social media. He is stepping down
from the KCA board, so this will add some challenges for us. However, the board
will continue to do its best to share important information with you, so that you
are in the loop.
Additionally,
the Kincora Resident Association is seeking new board members, too. If you want
more say in how your HOA fees are spent and handled, joining the KRA board is your
best option. Not to mention that SVLA
also needs volunteers. If you want a permanent skating rink or sports amenities
to be built, please consider joining.
Please
note: KRA, SVLA, and KCA boards are volunteer run! We all share the same passion:
making Kincora a healthier, better, and more vibrant place to live! If you have
the same passion, please consider joining the boards. Your contribution will make
a huge difference in your community.
New
Playground Updates
We
will be building a new playground to replace the one by the storm pond. If you missed
the playground design, you will need to dig up the previous April newsletter or
visit https://mycalgary.com/Newsletters/Calgary/NW/Kincora/2026/April.pdf to find
out.
Event
Updates
Since we just had our annual Earth
Day Litter Cleanup, we should have a cleaner community to enjoy. To keep Kincora
looking its best, please ensure your garbage bin lid closes properly, as strong
NW winds can blow it open and scatter debris. A heartfelt thank you to residents
Amy Taylor and all the dedicated volunteers who regularly pick up litter throughout
Kincora — your efforts make a real difference! You can join in too by picking up
litter whenever you head out for a walk.
Next,
our annual Parade of Garage Sales is scheduled for May 9. If you are a KCA member,
KCA will advertise your garage sale location in the newspaper and on social media.
So, sign up or renew your membership at kincora.org and send us an email to [email protected]
if you want to participate in the event!
Finally,
KCA is in full swing in organizing the annual KCA Stampede Breakfast on July 12.
We are now looking for a lot of volunteers to help out. If you are interested, please
email us at [email protected].
