As we move into
fall, things will be a bit different this year. With Alberta staying on the
current time and no ‘falling back’ it will be a different November. There are
good arguments for different ways of approaching which time is better, but we
will adjust!
Ranchlands Annual
General Meeting – November 8 at 2:00 pm
I hope to meet
many of you at our AGM and invite you to consider running for a board position.
We are getting into a great rhythm of the hours of operation of the hall,
trying new programs – some work and some don’t – however trying new ideas is a
great way to discover the needs of the community. Members will have received an
email with the changes to the bylaws that we will be voting on (again…).
Water restrictions
(This information is from our Ward 2 Newsletter)
From mid-September
to early October, the City will connect the new Bearspaw South Feeder Main to
the Shaganappi Pump Station. No water restrictions are anticipated during this
phase of work unless there is a significant increase in demand caused by unusually
hot weather.
Stage 4 outdoor
water restrictions and indoor water conservation will be required for
approximately four weeks during the next phase of tie-in connections, expected
to take place from mid-October to early November. Residents are encouraged to
stay informed and continue following the City’s year-round Lawn and Landscape
Watering Schedule.
RCA Casino Event
(Feb 26 and 27) Save the Date!
We have our dates
for the next Casino supporting our Community Association and will be seeking
volunteers to help out. If you have never had a chance to volunteer for a
casino, we would be happy to answer any questions and give you a run down. The
shifts are 11:00 am to 7:30 pm; 7:30 pm to 3:00 am; or 11:00 pm to 3:30 am with
various roles. We will collect names through the office and get everyone all
set up as needed. Generally, the contribution from AGLC for working at a two day
casino provides between $80,000 and $90,000 that we use to operate our
association and our facility.
Finally, repeating
myself from last month, we look forward to seeing people come forward to
continue to work on Ranchlands being a vibrant community, supporting our
residents and having fun. Please look through the Round up for events and
follow us on social media to see what’s happening!
