It is hard to believe that it’s June
already! Our annual Stampede Breakfast will be held on July 4, 2026. Breakfast
will be from 9:00 to 11:00 am with the event itself running until noon. We have
confirmed the wagon rides, marching band, and various other activities to be
announced.
We will have an update on the Fundraiser
BBQ (held May 23) and Greenspace Cleanup (held May 31) in our next edition.
We have decided to move forward with
keeping our community sign boards up year-round, and we will use them to
announce meeting dates when we have no other events to share. We would also
like to invite all interested community residents to our next CA meeting on
June 10 – it will be the last one before our summer break. These monthly online
meetings are open to everyone. They are held online the second Wednesday of the
month – please see our website and Facebook pages for the links.
My last conversation with the landscape
architect shows that the development permit has been approved. Although we know
the shade structure won’t be completed this year, we are excited to see the
plans coming together.
I heard from the Auburn Bay School casino
organizer that they had a full complement of volunteers this year, with a
couple of community residents stepping forward to help out. Thank you for your
generosity in helping the school raise their funds for the next couple of
years.
We will be starting to advertise our ABCA
casino shortly. It will be held on September 18 and 19, 2026, at the Deerfoot
Inn. We are just preparing to share the signup for the event. Please ensure you
follow us on Facebook and check out our website. These fundraising events are
so important to us and the schools. We are looking to pull together other
incentives for our volunteers as one person indicated that one shift covered
can mean as much as $2,500, or just over $300 per hour, for an eight-hour shift
in revenue to the organization.
Officially, all of the large beds at the
Community Gardens have been reserved for the upcoming 2026 year. If you are
interested in being added to the waitlist, please email [email protected]
and we will add you to the list.
Auburn Bay has a large number of Facebook
groups. There is a Pet Group, Seniors Group, Grillers Group, Ladies Group, Food
Lovers Group, Gardening Group, Community Garden Group, Ladies Clothing Exchange
Group, Business Group, Buy-Nothing Group… the list is nearly endless. Be sure
to check out these fabulously interesting groups.
