Stuffed Cabbage Rolls

Ingredients

·
12 cabbage leaves

·
1 lb ground beef

·
1 cup cooked rice

·
1 egg, beaten

·
¼ cup milk

·
¼ cup onion, finely chopped

·
1 tsp garlic powder

·
1 tsp salt

·
½ tsp black pepper

·
2 cups tomato sauce

·
1 tbsp brown sugar

·
1 tbsp lemon juice

·
1 tsp Worcestershire sauce

Instructions

1. Prepare the cabbage leaves: Bring a
large pot of water to a boil. Immerse cabbage leaves and cook for two to three
minutes or until just softened. Drain and set aside.

2. Make the filling: In a bowl, combine
ground beef, rice, egg, milk, onion, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Mix well.

3. Assemble the rolls: Place about ¼ cup of
the meat mixture in the centre of each cabbage leaf. Fold in the sides and roll
up tightly. Place the rolls seam side down in a baking dish.

4. Prepare the sauce: In a bowl, mix tomato
sauce, brown sugar, lemon juice, and Worcestershire sauce. Pour over the
cabbage rolls.

5. Bake: Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
Cover the dish with foil and bake for about one hour, until the meat is cooked
through and the rolls are tender.

6. Serve: Garnish with chopped fresh
parsley before serving.
